Digital exhibit for Sussex Cricket Museum

We have developed digital exhibits for the Sussex Cricket Museum that run on mounted iPads. In the first phase of the project we created an App which was installed on seven iPads mounted on the front of old lockers that are in the club.

Each iPad gives information about a Sussex player – from John Wisden to Matt Prior – and is kept up to date to reflect new players. With background information and using archive photos and video, visitors to the museum can find out all about their favourite players.

Recent players were specially filmed for the project to provide a fun and engaging “ask a question” section – the user chooses a question and sees what the player has to say. This is particularly targeted at younger visitors to the museum.

In 2017, we created a new exhibit on a separate iPad which is in the Women’s Cricket area of the museum. The content for this exhibit looks at the history of Women’s Cricket as well as the World Cup that England both hosted and won in the summer. We also updated some of the original iPads to add current players.
